I think you were on the right track.

Since the problem is asking you who ran more, your answer should be either Jose or Jenna.

In order to solve, find which fraction is greater, 2/3 or 7/12.

2/3=24/36
7/12=21/36

Since 24/36>21/36, Jose ran more of the race.
