1/3(9a+b)−12(4a+2b)

Distribute:

=(1/3)(9a)+(1/3)(b)+−2a+−b

=3a+1/3b+−2a+−b

Combine Like Terms:

=3a+1/3b+−2a+−b

=(3a+−2a)+(1/3b+−b)

=a+−2/3b
