If f(x) = x + 8 and g(x) = –4x – 3, find (f + g)(x).

Here we are simply adding the two function to create a new one...

(f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)

(f+g)(x)=(x+8)+(-4x-3)

(f+g)(x)=-3x+5   (so B)
