0.85 + 0.85 + 0.85 + 0.85 + 0.85 + 0.85 + 0.85 = $5.95

You then count the times you added 0.85 which would be 7 times.

You can also multiply 0.85 by 7 to shorten it up:

0.85 x 7 = $5.95

This would leave $0.05 left.
