How do you convert an improper fraction to a mixed number?

So,
Lets say you have a improper fraction that you want to put into a mixed number.
 45
----  
  7
To put this into a mixed number, you divide the numerator by the denominator and put the remainder back into the numerator

45/7=6 R3

6 3/7 is the mixed number of 45/7.

Let's say that the improper fraction is 45 over 6 how many times can 6 go in to 45 the numerator will be 7 and the denominator will be 45
