Answer: Because if there are mistakes in the lines/stage directions, the cast may not be able to convey the message of the play properly. This will get the script bad reviews, which is bad for the play writer. Those who do choose to perform the play, may get something wrong, which would be a financial loss. All parties involved lose if someone doesn’t do their job correctly.
