There is no formula. Just basic Algebra.

Let's solve for y.

7a−3y=9−3yStep 1: Add 3y to both sides.

7a−3y+3y=−3y+9+3y7a=9

Step 2: Add -7a to both sides.

7a+−7a=9+−7a0=−7a+9

Step 3: Divide both sides by 0.

00=−7a+90y=−7a+90

Answer:

y=−7a+90
