Spain benefited by looking for god, gold, and glory. Spain soon grew rich from the deposits of gold and silver in Central and South America. Spain also spread christianity which is why there are so many missions in California, Arizona, etc. France benefited by forming good relationships with native americans and had mutual trade of beaver furs. England benefited by gaining colonization starting with Virginia.
