  • Life in Plantation: Plantation were large tracts of land acquired by few wealthy white southerners. Plantations required a large number of slaves as a workforce to produce crops for-profit and to do other household chores.
  • Life in A yeoman's farm: These are small plots of land held by southerners who grew crops for their consumption and could hardly afford any slaves. However, they support slavery and want to get to the position of wealthy landholding class.
