What's the difference between Savanna and biomes

A biome is a formation of plants and animals that have common characteristics, due to similar climates and can be found over all continents. The Savanna which is a type of biome, is a grassland ecosystem characterized by the trees being sufficiently widely spaced so that the canopy does not close.
