The amygdala controls fear and anger (more of the automatic response, like for survival). How I remember this is the little saying:
Amy is angry and afraid
The amygdala also has a small role in memory storage, making decisions, and arousal ( a for amygdala and a for arousal. As you can see the amygdala can also control pleasure)
It's part of the limbic system
