Chulalongkorn worked hard to modernize Thailand.
Chulalongkorn was the fifth monarch of Siam under the House of Chakri. His reign was characterized and remembered by the modernization of Siam, governmental and social reforms, as well as territorial concessions to the British and French. Chulalongkorn, through his policies and acts, succeed in saving Siam from colonisation. His full name is Somdetch Phra Paramindr Maha Chulalongkorn.
