Hi!

The perimeter is equal to

l + l + w + w = 62

The length is 3 feet longer than the width so...

w + 3 + w + 3 + w + w = 62

Simplify

4w + 6 = 62

4w + 6 - 6 = 62 - 6

4w = 56

4w/4 = 56/4

w = 14

14 + 3 = 17

The width is 14 and the length is 17.
