A. how quickly do bones heal in children compared to adults? why is there a difference?

Because of the periosteum. The periosteum is a layer of tissue under the skin. In children, the periosteum is thicker and stronger which makes it able to heal faster.

 The bones benefit from a thick periosteum because the oxygen and nutrient supply to the bone is higher making it heal faster.
