I consider myself to be an emotion informed, behavioral therapist and utilize both experience and training to bring awareness, education, insight and encourage change, as needed for clients who seek a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how their past may be influencing their present and future in harmful ways. For couples, this will include one collaborative session with both parties, two individual sessions to learn about each partner and their individual story, needs, desires and experiences, and a fourth session, which will culminate the assessment phase for couples. During this time, the therapist will work collaboratively with the couple set to identify their strengths, areas for improvement and develop a formulation of ways that the couple can enhance the quality of their relationship. These sessions tend to last for 60-75 minutes each. The next steps will be discussed and agreed upon by all parties involved. Areas of Focus May Include: Communication, Grief, Emotional Withdrawal, Infidelity & Intimacy.
