The last few years has been traumatic, distressing, and challenging in ways that has caused us to adjust our traditional views of the world or revise how we will continue to survive within it. Many have chosen to grasp tightly onto their conventional beliefs in search of comfort in what they find to be familiar. We have been impacted by trauma in one way or another but not all of us have the capacity to fall back on our inner-strengths and continue with our usual tendency to show resiliency. We get trapped in feelings of hopelessness and fatigue. We need someone to guide us and bring us back out from the darkness, back into the light.
I am a Clinical Trauma Professional who has over 15 years of experience with counseling and 20 years of experience serving families. My treatment philosophy is to utilize psychotherapy and clinical social work theories in a strength-based model to optimize coping skills and tools needed for your wellbeing. This is done through our building of trust, a good rapport, and growing a secure and confidential dyad supported by feelings of empathy, respect, and validation without furthering any pity or blame you may have experienced in the past. My practice skills and interventions are best implemented through the use of Motivational Interviewing, Life Coaching Skills, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
