Hi, my name is Ngozi, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and I am so excited that you landed on this page. I first want to commend you for taking the courageous step of pursuing therapy, and as cliché as that statement sounds, I really mean it. The word courage in Latin means to tell your story, and I truly believe it takes courage to be authentic, transparent, and vulnerable in sharing your feelings of rejection, unworthiness, shame, anger, grief, betrayal, and guilt in a world that would prefer you to suppress it all. That is why I call our space a brave space because bravery can only exist in the presence of fear. You have taken the brave step to confront the pain of struggling with childhood sexual trauma, body image, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, depression, anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem and self-worth, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual abuse. Since you have taken this courageous step, I am committed to helping you discover detrimental core beliefs you may unconsciously hold that lead to the gaping hole in your heart, which produces the symptoms that bring you into therapy. I am a firm believer that faith is the cornerstone of an individual's well-being and psychological make-up. I believe that integrating faith with traditional psychotherapy in times of unforeseen circumstances, rejection, depression, betrayal, or tribulations will directly transform a person's hurt, pain, despair, or brokenness into something so magnificent that the human mind could never conceive it. I call this the transformation of God turning a person’s ashes into beauty so that they become conduits and impact the world. I believe in healing because I have seen it happen in the lives of my clients I have counseled, but to do this, we must first get to the root to fix the fruit.

As my client in our brave space, you can expect me to intentionally immerse myself into your world to see what you see, hear what you hear, and feel what you feel. Our brave co-created space is the environment for you to tell your story to process your thoughts and the powerful emotions that accompany the thoughts in a therapeutic atmosphere filled with compassion, love, unconditional positive regard, and acceptance. I am co-journeying with you so that you can feel at ease to reveal your wounds that represent shame, pain, sorrow, hurt, and tears. However, my goal is to help you discover those painful moments that birthed bravery, courage, freedom, heart, strength, and more. From there, we determine which evidence-based therapeutic intervention fits your therapeutic goals because I believing healing is inevitable.
