The older you get, the more of a balancing act life becomes. The endless excitement which punctuated the years of emerging adulthood gives way, seemingly overnight, to questions and concerns regarding a host of choices and commitments you feel, as a man, are your job to decisively navigate. Despite the fact that you’re a motivated self-starter and a driven high-achiever, you may feel buffeted with an ambiguous angst that leaves you feeling as though something is just “off.” An encroaching sense of disconnection and isolation, ambivalence towards identifying and embracing the vast potentiality of your options in life, uncertainty regarding meaning and purpose in your life, or even a fear of death while having lived unfulfilled can make it seem as though the weight of the world were on your shoulders.
Hear this – you’re not alone, your feelings are valid, and best of all, there’s help to be found. Work with me. As a systemically-trained relational therapist, my role is to journey alongside you, examining your lived experiences and the significance they play across the various domains of your life. When trouble occurs, together, we assess where it stems from, what purpose it serves, and how it’s maintained in your life. My method of practice is rooted in the strength-based and inclusive foundations of social justice and cultural competence, with the aim of empowering those I work with through non-judgmental insight into their presenting concerns, while collaboratively creating a safe space for change to occur.
I rely on an integrative treatment approach to do this, emphasizing psycho-dynamic, strategic, and solution-focused modalities. If desired, I also attend to the dynamic interplay between Christian faith and mental wellness. My areas of specialization include but are not limited to trauma & family of origin experiences, stress & anger management, anxiety & depression, faith & mental health, mindfulness, imposter syndrome & perfectionism, communication & boundaries, dating & relationships, sex-related issues, couples therapy, and contextual matters relating to power, race, gender, identity & culture. Let’s connect to see if I’m the right fit for you.
