Lissa (they, them) is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) as well as a certified yoga, qigong, and mindfulness teacher. Lissa provides mental health services to those who are age 15 and older.
Lissa provides individual and family psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and integrative and holistic care. Lissa works collaboratively with each client to find a supportive approach, and may incorporate the following into sessions: Indigenous focusing-oriented therapy (IFOT), cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, compassion-focused therapy, trauma-responsive care, strength-based and person-centered approaches, medication management (utilizing the lowest medication dose possible), mindfulness meditation including Buddhist meditation, mindfulness movement, somatic-based interventions, functional medicine, and nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. Lissa specializes in anxiety, depression, mood, shame, grief, difficulties with life transitions, and trauma including complex, race-based and intergenerational trauma.
Developing a positive therapeutic relationship with clients is very important. It is Lissa’s goal to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate approach that allows clients to feel safe. Lissa provides inclusive, culturally responsive, and social-justice oriented therapeutic approaches. All are welcome including those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), queer, trans, gender queer, gender non-conforming, and non-binary.
