There are times in life where there is so much going on or, that has happened, that finding time and safe space to sort out our own thoughts and feelings can be challenging. I recognize the courage it takes to seek and start therapy. As a therapist I respect my clients by collaborating with the client to set the pace of therapy. I create safe space for my clients to explore how things like race, religion, gender expression and sexuality impact their life. I provide respectful and non judge mental support.
My counseling style is supportive, inclusive, compassionate, nonjudgmental and culturally competent. I supports my clients in setting realistic and attainable goals to help them thrive. My approach includes, but is not limited to, culturally competent counseling, cognitive behavioral techniques, trauma-informed counseling, and solution-focused counseling.
I only offer telehealth sessions at this time. If you are interested in working with me please reach out via email. From there I will reach out to you to complete a brief consultation to get a sense of, the concerns that lead you to seek therapy, discuss days and times for therapy sessions to ensure your availability and mine are a match, and how you plan to pay for the cost of the sessions ( i.e. insurance info or cash pay). If we both agree to proceed there will be forms for you to review and complete electronically before the first session.
During our first session we will split the time with you explaining in more detail the your concerns that lead to you seek therapy and I will ask some questions to get a better understanding of how these concerns are impacting your life. At the end of the first session we will decide together if and when to schedule the next session. If at any point you or I determine that I am not the best therapist for you I will be happy to make recommendations for other therapists for you.
