I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides individual therapy to adults. As a therapist, I strongly believes in the power of empathy in the therapeutic process, and utilize a person-centered approach.
As someone passionate within the field, I believe that therapy is a journey in which a therapist works alongside an individual as they strive to develop a stronger sense of agency and independence. In addition to experience with working with individuals suffering from life transitions/stressors, dual diagnoses, mood, and anxiety disorders, I also have experience in Functional Family Therapy. I utilize elements of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and gestalt psychotherapy, to aid and meet clients where they are in their journey. I look forward to pursuing my professional development with a postgraduate training in gestalt psychotherapy.
Being a black male therapist of Caribbean heritage, my specialty areas include working with black men, as well as individuals that have a Caribbean background. One of my ambitions is to assist these communities with destigmatizing mental health. In addition to this, my interest areas include relationship/marital conflict, self-esteem, life stressors/transitions, anxiety, identity, depression, and communication.
