Insurance Note: HSA and FSA accounts are eligible to pay for counseling services. However, I do not directly bill any insurance providers. Therefore, sessions will require an out-of-pocket payment. I recommend checking with your insurance company before our first meeting if you wish to file for reimbursement. If the insurance company agrees to reimburse services for out-of-network services, they will require a mental health diagnosis. This might remain on a permanent medical record and could possibly influence life insurance rates in the future. I will need your consent to release any possible diagnoses. After each session, I can provide you with what is known as a superbill, then you may email it to the insurance company. If the insurance company does not reimburse you, you can make a claim for the sessions to help you meet an out-of-pocket deductible.

If you struggle with anxiety, anger, church hurt or abuse, depression, life transitions, racial-related distress, a lack of resilience, spiritual maturity, or trauma, I would love the opportunity to share tools that can help you find relief.
For individuals:
I seek to help transform individuals with a holistic growth model that connects the mind, heart, body, and spirit. This model is a culmination of cognitive theory and over 11 years of experiences that brought me out of an eight-month-long depression. My doctoral research and experience with leadership development found a correlation between resilience and spiritual maturity. The findings have been adapted into tools supporting overcoming present and long-term distress, constructing healthy habits, and designing a future vision. The individual-focused journey begins with identifying your feelings, understanding the goals of your behavior, and exploring childhood pain.
For couples:
Those looking to get married will be able to assess your marital readiness and next steps. I assist couples to repair past emotional injuries including those who have experienced the heartbreak and betrayal of infidelity. I can help any couple create a safe space to share their deepest longings, learn to communicate well, and create a new relationship. I use emotion-focused therapy and the Gottman method to help couples repair past hurts by identifying and unlearning negative relational patterns. I\'ll help to create a safe space where learning to listen and empathize is the bedrock of healing that will move you to a more positive sentiment toward your partner.
About me:
I can relate to people of all cultures as a first-generation Jamaican-American. I struggled to fit in growing up which contributed to my childhood anger. After I learned to understand my feelings, these powerful emotions became my allies in helping me then others understand their feelings and behavior. I am a Christian and believe all people were created with dignity in the image of God. I know many have been hurt by the church (including myself). I believe that I can help bring healing to survivors of this abuse and that the Bible has great insights for helping individuals and couples understand their realities. I went from one failed relationship to another until I recognized how my triggers influenced self-destructive reactions which kept me from giving and being my best. Now I\'d like to help you understand yourself as you become the best version of yourself.
