So, what brings you’re here today? What are some goals you would like to achieve? That’s what I want to know in the first session when we meet.
I have a passion for helping athletes. When you meet with me, you enter a space that is non-judgmental, comfortable and safe. I pride myself in building a strong rapport with the people I work with. You can just be yourself in a relaxed setting, where you are understood. In our sessions together, we will problem solve to find solutions that work for your game and life. My goal is to help you be who you want to be.
An athlete’s life is different from other people. Does the stress of being an athlete sometimes makes you feel overwhelmed and alone? Are you expected to be almost perfect and fear you won’t measure up and will get ridiculed? Are you afraid of not being “good enough” and coaches losing confidence in you? Does worrying about your performance leave you feeling overanxious? Do you have moments of overwhelming sadness but are afraid to let anyone know because you’re an athlete and athletes can’t show any signs of weakness, all the while feeling stressed out with no one to go to?
I help athletes be at their best on and off the field. Our work together is not only confidential but also helps you gain confidence in your sport and overall abilities. My approach is supportive without judgment or criticism. I am on your team to help you reach your highest potential.
I attended Chicago State University where I obtained my bachelor’s degree and I have a master’s degree from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. I have two published magazine articles on mindfulness and runners. I have also counseled with the NBA 2K League.
In our work together, you can expect my commitment to you. I will accomplish this by listening to you and gaining an understanding from your perspective. We have treatment options of goal setting, emotional management, role-playing, and much more.
