Hello, my name is Hasan. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker experienced working with adolescents and young adults, though I’m qualified to support older adults as well. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, and Applied Behavior Analysis. I also pull from Dialectical Behavior and Psychodynamic modalities of therapy, among others, in my work with clients. I am strengths- based in my approach and am mindful to not pathologize, regardless of diagnosis.

Growing up in East Harlem, I was always the one my friends came to for advice. I've always had a heart for partnering with people to help them navigate challenges. As a man of faith, it became clear to me that I was called to harness this through a career in counseling and therapy. With over a decade of professional experience in the field, my relevant employment includes the Department of Education (DOE) where I counsel and provide therapy to adolescents and young adults from predominantly black and Hispanic communities. I also have experience providing both informal and formal clinical support to parents of these youth, and additionally have worked with adults while delivering outpatient therapy at a clinic in Manhattan. Through workshops at the DOE, and professional development opportunities sought out independently, I am always honing and growing my skill set in the hopes of broadening my ability to help.

Rapport and trust are integral in a successful therapeutic relationship, and this will be at the center of our work. I know firsthand how difficult it can be finding a therapist of color that is competent and with whom I can connect, so I’m intentional in providing the most authentically meaningful experience I can for my clients.

Feel free to send me a text message to arrange a consultation. Or call me directly. Be well, and I'm excited to partner with you soon.
