I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where I also received my bachelor’s in psychology. I have worked in the behavioral health field for 12 years and have practiced as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate for over 5 years. My therapeutic approach is eclectic as I utilize a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focus brief therapy, person-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and Adults. I have experience facilitating substance abuse groups, individual counseling, and family counseling sessions. I strive to create a safe environment where my clients can feel comfortable, open, and free of judgment. I respect all different cultures and allow Clients to make decisions to improve their lives based on their embedded morals and believes. As a black male who grew up in poverty, I especially identify with individuals who are tasked with overcome many environmental barriers and trauma. I strive to empower others to live their truth and break adverse family cycles. I find great joy in helping my clients triumph over barriers on their journey to improve their quality of life.
