My biggest obstacle in life was overcoming myself, but once I defeated that and surrendered, the only thing left was peace. Life is not meant to be more pain than joy. Being emotionally scarred, sick and tired of broken love and ready to lift that dark cloud is the bridge I’m ready to meet you at.
My name is Vincent Fletcher, Founder and CEO of MENU (Mental and Emotional Nuance of U). I’ve been a professional manager for 22 years, Certified Professional Life Coach and a Certified Emotional Intelligence Life Coach.
This is not therapy. I am not a therapist. I will help you learn to dim the emotional response to things in your past that are stopping you from enjoying your present life. I’ve learned that being forced to change is hard but willing to change is freeing.
Slow up before you run off, trust me, I would have never picked this for myself. This is God’s plan! As a black man, the word “emotion” or “emotional” doesn’t fit with what society says or what I’ve seen in the men in my community, the ones I’ve ran with, or my Grandfather, who I saw as the most God fearing, hardest working family oriented specimen of a strong black man on the planet.
To be a black man in America, society has forced us to deal with or suppress psychological stress and emotional trauma every day. Not being man enough to take care of our homes, finances, deal with the racial injustices and the constant threat of being in danger, can do a number on a man’s mental state. When we have been knocked down a few times by life and feel we have the weight of the world on our shoulder, our history and pride as a strong man, keeps us from speaking about what we are feeling.
What about those of us raised in religious households? We were taught that if we were battling with inner problems to pray over them and find peace. Our faith keeps us looking forward while waiting for our Heavenly Father to show us the way and deliver us. Sometimes, that wait can drive you deeper into anger and depression, until pressure burst that pipe and your life is turned upside down. Don't even mention the urban raised, hood guy that’s lived a rap music mentality life style. You're a thug and society see you as hopeless.
I’ve spent the bulk of my adult life worrying and stressing over ideas and things that didn’t work in my favor. Through a little guidance, I learned a lot about myself and my problematic way of thinking. Nope, I wasn’t going crazy, money was on point, job was stable and things looked good but something was uneasy. People around me didn’t want to hear about my problems. Once I got a direction and acknowledged the problem, I ran with the solution and started MENU.
MENU empowers you to create a better life for yourself. I will give you all the tools needed to regain clarity and give your life purpose and meaning. The first step in solving a problem is seeing it. You can’t solve what you won’t see. It’s hard to experience God’s best when you are blind. Your success depends upon your self awareness. You must acknowledge there are things about yourself that you can’t see that are hurting and keeping you from living your best life.
It’s time to turn your emotional weakness into your strength. You’re worth giving yourself a shot. Allow MENU to help you!
